The media (with academia behind it) is so powerful that a case can be made that the relationship you describe is actually the inverse. It’s not state run media, it’s a media run state. The Democratic Party is actually doing the bidding of the NYT, not the other way around.
But, I just want to say something else about the bizarre "happenings" we've all been experiencing.
The treasury is being looted, industries are being dismantled, farmlands and fields are left fallow, slaughterhouses, food processing centers are burning, cargo ships wait weeks out-to-sea for their turn to dock and unload its cargo.
Whatever it is the Leftist Democrats are planning is certainly not worth destroying our country over.
