As I understand it, the premise underlying Section 230 protections for social media companies is that they are carriers, not publishers, and thus not liable for posted defamatory content. Could one make the argument that due to their one-sided "moderation" policies which allow only one side of certain issues to be heard, they have effectively become publishers and lost their Section 230 immunity?
It sure would be interesting to see a plaintiff with deep pockets bring a suit against Facebook or YouTube on these grounds. Up to now, they have faced no downside to going along with government "suggestions" for censorship.
just wait until everyone uses AI in their emails and texts( ostensibly to prevent grammar or punctuation issues) and Big Brother stops the writer and prevents or “ corrects” the writer.
While you've done a great job so far, you need to look farther back to 2012/2013. Yes, the government has committed multiple violations of the constitution. And, the tech companies built this apparatus years ago to further their own version of reality. This is why I keep knocking on about Meghan Murphy and the trans movement. (Also it's killing kids)
If I let my sci-fi brain wander, I think this will lead right back to the trans humanists and the billionaire pedophile rings (balenciaga anyone?).
Since reality is proving far stranger than fiction, it very well could be true.
But aren't the Pritzkers the ones pushing the trans movement? Billionaires, governor of Illinois, the board at Harvard? Same bunch who found Obama and made him a US Senator. One of the family members made the switch and they want us all to love them.
It's not a spontaneous change in our society. It is “ pushed” as an agenda and it is not because a drag queen was fired or killed. It's because cause powerful people ( hard to get more powerful than they are)have made it their cause.
Thank you for making the excellent point that time and resources spent monitoring wrongthink detract from the actual mission of national cybersecurity.
Of course I'm sure the response will be "we are the U.S. governnment, we can do both!"
Wow! This is a crisp and clear explanation of the problem. I am amazed by your ability to take a complicated topic and explain it so that anyone can understand it. Brilliant!
Too many bricks in the wall have fallen to keep this edifice standing. With the release of Rasmussen's polling results on mail-in ballot fraud yesterday exposing massive and widespread (bipartisan) voter fraud in the 2020 election, combined with the collapse of trust in government, America is no longer a functional democracy.
Personally I’ve only been aware since 2020 of governments' lies and censorship (thank you Covid) but in these last 3.5 years my mind has been blown by the extent of their deceptions. Keep on fighting the good fight, Michael & team! 🙏🏾
You're a national hero. Thank you for your work.
💯
I’m puzzled by how many people appear to be lying to Congress. Aren’t there some kind of legal penalties for doing that?

Thank you for calling for CISA to be abolished. I concur 100%. But lawmakers lack the courage.

I know that someday soon, Alexa is going to tell me, "I'm sorry Jeff. I can't do that."
Like HAL from 2001 - so true, you nailed it.
You got it!
Open the Pod bay doors, please, HAL.
I think grammarly already does this.
God bless you guys, Michael/Matt/et al

Or it's aliens...😉

I mean, yes, it's a cult/religion/social contagion. Can you clarify your comment?

Thanks for doing this for all of us!
The brains and the balls on you!!

BRAVO !!
Who is funding Stanford's Virality Project? What is its budget, staffing? Criminals should be, by now, jailed...
Defund CISA!
Nailed it! Great job in speaking truth to power. Expose those frauds.
Cognitive dissidence not cognitive security

Amazing stuff!
