While there were certainly instances solved by the 2017 Trump/ Scott first step act, a majority of the harsh convictions for weed were from people who had really hurt/ assaulted/ raped/ mugged people, but the cops couldn’t get the victims to testify because the victims feared for their personal safety.

In any event, that doesn’t happen anymore, so what is the justification for letting a career violent criminal, domestic abuser, and child rapist out to go run over innocent people at a Christmas parade? Those stories are more than just anecdotal. Look at what happened in Chicago this weekend. Or every day. 75% of violent criminals let out from no bail commit another violent act before their trial. And since when is assault a “non-violent” offense? It’s only because the “progressives” claim violence is equity
